Swan attacks Triathlon swimmers

You know it’s  going to be a tough day in the office when, before you’ve even started, you get attacked my an angry swan.

Competitors at the Triathy 218 event were joined by an angry male Swan. Photographer Michael O’Rourke watched as the bird tried to scare off the swimmers from the centre of River Barrow.

Clearly a warning to stay away from his partner and two cygnets, the swan was taking no prisoners. He was attacking swimmers as they made their way across the river. Clearly not enough room for all of them.

We’ve seen swans do this before during kayaking events, such as the Devises to Westminster event, as they paddle past nests on the Canal and Rivers. But first time we’ve seen one attack swimmers.
